GI#28 Revised 5/25/2018
At this site, located in the Central Waterfront neighborhood,
a downspout has been routed to a 450 square foot rain
garden. This rain garden intercepts, treat, and filters the
stormwater runoff from a portion of the church's roof. Six
trees have also been planted to promote groundwater
recharge. Additionally, the surrounding, deteriorating
sidwalk has been depaved and replaced with pervious concrete. Overflow from the rain garden
discharges to lawn areas. These installations help to mitigate nuisance flooding in the area and
reduces nonpoint source pollution and stormwater that would otherwise discharge into the City of
Camden’s combined sewer system. This site captures 51,541 gallons of stormwater per year.
This project was completed in November 2014.
