GI#29 Revised 5/25/2018
At this site, located in the Central Waterfront
neighborhood, the deteriorating sidewalks have been
removed and replaced with permeable surfaces that
promote groundwater recharge. A 1,725 square foot
pervious concrete sidewalk has been installed. The
remainder of the sidewalks have been depaved.
Overflow from the pervious concrete discharges to the
curb and gutter. This installation helps to mitigate nuisance flooding in the area and reduces
nonpoint source pollution and stormwater that would otherwise discharge into the City of
Camden’s combined sewer system. This site captures 17,306 gallons of stormwater per year.
This project was completed in November 2014.
