GI#32 Revised 5/25/2018
At this site, located in the Central Waterfront
neighborhood, a downspout has been disconnected and
connected to three rain gardens, totaling 1,530 square
feet. These rain gardens, shaped like fish, are connected
to each other via underdrain pipes and intercept, treat,
and filter the stormwater runoff from a portion of the
Adventure Aquarium's roof. These rain gardens help to
mitigate nuisance flooding in the area and reduces
nonpoint source pollution and stormwater that would
otherwise discharge into the City of Camden's combined sewer system. Overflow from the rain
gardens discharge to lawn areas. This site captures 158,854 gallons of stormwater per year. This
Adventure Aquarium rain garden project was completed in September 2015.
