GI#36 Revised 5/25/2018
At this site, located in the Centerville neighborhood, a total
of five downspouts have been disconnected. Two
downspouts have been routed to a 560 square foot rain
garden. Three downspouts have been disconnected to
seven downspout planter boxes. A 300 square foot
stormwater planter has been implemented to intercept a
portion of the parking lot. These green infrastructure practices intercept, treat, and filter the
stormwater runoff from portions of the library's roof and parking lot. Overflow from the green
infrastructure practices discharge to the sewer system. These installations also help to mitigate
nuisance flooding in the area and reduces nonpoint source pollution and stormwater that would
otherwise discharge into the City of Camden's combined sewer system. This site captures
282,508 gallons of stormwater per year. This project was completed in September 2015 with a
rubble border being added to the perimeter of the rain garden in April 2017.
