GI#37 Revised 5/25/2018
At this site, located in the Rosedale/East Camden
neighborhood, 96 square feet of downspout planter
boxes have been installed to intercept, treat, and filter
the stormwater runoff from the school building's rooftop.
The plants selected for the planter box include Black-
eyed Susan and Purple Coneflower. Unplanted sections
were included so that the students could customize the planter box with their own plants. Overflow
from the planter box discharges to the sewer system via overland flow to existing grate. These
installations also help to mitigate nuisance flooding in the area and reduces nonpoint source
pollution and stormwater that would otherwise discharge into the City of Camden's combined
sewer system. This site captures 79,716 gallons of stormwater per year. This project was
completed in September 2015.
