GI#39 Revised 5/25/2018
At this site, located within the North Camden neighborhood,
a 500 gallon rainwater harvesting cistern has been installed
to collect the stormwater runoff from the rooftop of the
building. The collected rainwater is used to water the existing
raised landscape boxes at the site. The overflow from the rainwater harvesting cistern is
connected to a 325 square foot stormwater planter that is planted with shrubs. Overflow from the
rain garden discharges to the existing curb. These installations also help to mitigate nuisance
flooding in the area and reduces nonpoint source pollution and stormwater that would otherwise
discharge into the City of Camden's combined sewer system. This site captures 35,735 gallons
of stormwater per year. The project was completed in September 2015.
