GI#41 Revised 5/25/2018
At this site, located in the Fairview neighborhood, a 600
gallon rainwater harvesting cistern has been installed to
collect the stormwater runoff from the rooftop of the St.
Joan of Arch Church building. The cistern has been fitted
with an internal pump and the collected rainwater is used
to water the existing community vegetable and fruit
garden beds. Overflow from the cistern is discharged to
lawn areas. This installation helps to mitigate nuisance
flooding in the area and reduces nonpoint source
pollution and stormwater that would otherwise discharge into the City of Camden's combined
sewer system. This site captures 2,500 gallons of stormwater per year. This project was
completed in September 2015.
