GI#46 Revised 5/25/2018
Flooding in this Cramer Hill site dates to the
1950’s, when Baldwin’s Run stream was filled
to create more land. Today, during heavy
rainfalls, the park and surrounding
neighborhoods flood due to overcapacity in the
city’s combined sewer system. Phase 1 of this
project includes separation and improvements
to the storm and sanitary pipe infrastructure in and around the park. This includes new stormwater
storage basins, separated stormwater management pipes, and green infrastructure tools west of
Hayes Avenue. Phase II of the project reconstructs 16,718 square feet of the Baldwin’s Run
tributary to channel stormwater from the park to the back channel of the Delaware River. This site
is designed to capture 50,000,000 gallons of stormwater per year. This project was completed in
October 2015.
