GI#49 Revised 5/25/2018
At this site, located in the Waterfront South
neighborhood, portions of the deteriorating parking lot
have been removed and replaced with permeable
surfaces that promote groundwater recharge. A
portion of the parking spaces has been replaced with
3,260 square feet of porous asphalt. Additionally, a
740 square foot curbed rain garden has been
installed to intercept, treat, and filter stormwater runoff from the parking lot. Overflow from the
porous asphalt and rain garden discharges to the sewer system. These installations help to
mitigate nuisance flooding in the area and reduces nonpoint source pollution and stormwater that
would otherwise discharge into the City of Camden's combined sewer system. This site captures
738,400 gallons of stormwater per year. This project was completed in May 2017.
