GI#55 Revised 5/25/2018
At this site, located in the Rosedale/East Camden
neighborhood, portions of the deteriorating sidewalks and
parking lot have been removed and replaced with permeable
surfaces that promote groundwater recharge. A section of
sidewalk has been removed along N 37th Street and replaced
with pervious concrete. Additionally, existing large and
unhealthy trees along the street have been removed and replaced with new trees. A portion of
parking lot spaces have been re-paved with 1,590 square feet of porous asphalt that intercepts,
treats, and filters stormwater runoff from the parking lot. Overflow from the porous asphalt
discharges to the curb and gutter. These installations help to mitigate nuisance flooding in the
area and reduces nonpoint source pollution and stormwater that would otherwise discharge into
the City of Camden's combined sewer system. This site captures 176,700 gallons of stormwater
per year. This project was completed in May 2017.
