Some of the pipes in the collection system are HUGE!

The netting baskets catch large objects

Even on the coldest days, water continues to flow through the processing tanks.

Operators take samples for testing. Tests run in the lab monitor the treatment process to make sure only clean water is discharged.

Plant staff receives ongoing training on all aspects of the job.

Basic Wastewater Treatment classes are open to operations, maintenance, and collection staff.

There is a lot to learn about the organic processes and technology involved.

After completing training, graduates are eligible to take NJDEP tests for C-1 or S-1 licenses.

Not all training takes place in the classroom.

The Burn Building is a challenging place to work, even with support from your linemen.

The Burn Building is a specially designed training environment...but the flames are real.

Specialized equipment is used at Delaware No. 1.

Tramp was a much-loved visitor to the plant,
later adopted by a Pretreatment Department employee.
