Michael J. Doyle Park and Fishing Pier

Originally opened in 2002, Millennium Pier was renamed the Michael J. Doyle Park and Fishing Pier in 2009 in honor of the long time spiritual icon of the Waterfront South neighborhood, the pastor of nearby Sacred Heart Church.

It provides access to the Waterfront Walkway, which runs along the Delaware River behind the CCMUA facility to Phoenix Park.

Along with Phoenix Park and the Waterfront Walkway, it provides the only publicly accessible vantage point to view Philadelphia’s waterfront for this stretch of the river, including the S.S. United States.

Location

The park is located at the western end of Jackson Street in Camden, at the Delaware River, approximately equidistant from the Walt Whitman and Ben Franklin Bridges (both visible from the pier).
