Senior Sewage Plant Operator

The CCMUA is currently accepting applications for a Senior Sewage Plant Operator. Those interested in this position should be career-minded and able to perform work involved in the operation and maintenance of an 80mgd Wastewater Treatment Plant as they will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the 24-hour wastewater treatment plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under minimal direction, will oversee and provide direction to a shift of operators, attendants and/or laborers. In addition, duties include: monitoring, sampling, testing operating, adjusting and regulating sewage plant pumps, valves and other equipment. Periodically inspects plant and equipment for malfunctions and needed repairs, performs minor repairs, cleaning and maintenance. Give assignments and instructions to subordinates and ensure assignments and instructions are performed and completed.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of procedures used in operating and regulating plant equipment, and of government reports in terms of data gathering and reporting and ability to complete those and other forms.
• Ability to analyze sewage plant operational, process and maintenance problems, and to prepare reports, maintain records and files.
• Ability to develop effective work methods, give assignments and instruction and evaluate job performance and provide opinion and recommendations of current and proposed operational procedures.
• Basic computer program skills such as Outlook, WORD, Excel, and SCADA.
• Minimum NJDEP S-3 License
• Applicants must pass a physical, including a drug test, and a background check.
• Must be NJ Resident

Salary:
$85,000 – $118,000 *salary commensurate with experience and NJDEP license
Other: Rotating Days off & 12-hour shifts
